New to the forum? Want to introduce yourself in a cohesive manner? Already posted and just wanna talk about yourself? This thread is for you. Its also a convenient way to get a few posts so you can have an Avatar and edit your profile.

That was easy; a bard is a subspecies of poet.

Whoa man, first post! This could be the foundation for a years-long legacy! I hope I don't embarrass myself.

Yah, I'm really not that different from Gaming Steve. Different color scheme - I like it - but otherwise the same.

Yep. Same forum system. I just picked a theme that looked more spacey. Plus, with white letters on a dark background it puts less strain on your eyes. That was an issue brought up on the original Kosmosis board.

So what's the plan for this? Total break of history from Steve?

Not a complete break in history. More like when you break a stick but it still is attached by some splinters. We still have history, but there's going to be new topics and stuff, and new, Steve-independent management obviously.

So what kind of history are we talking?

General history from back to 2005, really.

So basically there hasn't been any real change?

I would disagree entirely with going all the way back. I don't really want any history from people who arent actualy here now.

Well, there will be lots of polishing. All the useless species have been tossed out, and the timeline is being completely refurbished by me - as soon as I finish up the perrachi, the maps, and the Encyclopedia Xenobiologica.

Most OG races are extinct anyway. The only active ones are the sombrerons and kratair, and the former are just sort of background merchants by now. I hope martyk will join our efforts. The nauceans are ascended but you can still talk to them at their homeworld (and Beyon, where a small community lives), the torpals have been declining rapidly for some centuries and will probably go extinct within the next few decades, and the quillarans won't develop space travel for hundreds of thousands of years, what with their primitive technological state. The ViS are still around, but nobody cares.

Kraitair are OG? I thought OG ended in late 2006.

wait a second. if Kratair are OG, and I made my race twenty two days before them, that makes Graid OG.*

this gives me slight satisfaction.

Aren't the graid millions of years old? This would make them the oldest existing species and the oldest in general that anyone has proof of ever living. That's more like IAG (Incredibly Ancient Galaxy). I mean, the kratair are the oldest of the modern era (at least 10,000 years in space), but...

Of course I joke. 'Tis in-universe! Yeah, I guess it's OG.

Eeyup.

And I totally agree with the dark background with white text. Better on the eyes.

"That bastard is watching that **** playing with a ****" should actually be a perfectly polite sentence to describe a child watching a dog play with some sticks. But it's not, because they somehow became offensive.
